What is IneoPEP and what is it used for?

IneoPEP is a food supplement containing a combination of specific enzymes that help break down proline-rich proteins from gluten-containing grains such as wheat, barley and rye. It is developed for people who are sensitive to gluten, but not for people with coeliac disease or a wheat allergy.
How does IneoPEP work?

IneoPEP contains specific enzymes that help break down proline-rich proteins. Gluten contains relatively high amounts of proline, making it harder for our own digestive enzymes to break it down completely. The enzymes in IneoPEP support further breakdown of these proteins during digestion.
When and how should you take IneoPEP?

Take IneoPEP with a gluten-containing meal, according to the recommended dosage on the packaging. Taking it with the meal is important so the enzymes are present when the proline-rich proteins in the food are digested.
Is IneoPEP suitable for coeliac disease?

No. IneoPEP is not suitable for coeliac disease or a wheat allergy and never replaces a strict gluten-free diet in these cases. Do you have symptoms after eating gluten and the cause has not yet been established? Have this medically investigated before removing gluten from your diet.
Can you continue eating gluten as usual with IneoPEP?

IneoPEP is developed to support the breakdown of proline-rich proteins in gluten-containing foods, but it is not a free pass to eat unlimited gluten. In coeliac disease or a wheat allergy, IneoPEP must never be used as an alternative to a gluten-free diet.
