AZ Sint-Vincentius Deinze creates its own bread mix for people with swallowing difficulties – with our Revogan cereal flakes!
We are so proud of our client AZ Sint-Vincentius for preparing their own bread mix for patients with swallowing difficulties. A successful collaboration between the dietetics department, the speech therapy department, and the hospital's chefs. And we at Revogan are, of course, proud that our cereal flakes are able to play an important role in this wonderful initiative. The kitchen at AZ Sint-Vincentius in Deinze has a new dish on the menu. The hospital now offers homemade bread mixes for patients with swallowing difficulties, developed by a multidisciplinary team of speech therapists, dietitians, and the hospital's chefs. The new product is designed to ensure a safe and nutritious meal for weaker patients.
The bread mixes are made up of 2 layers. A bottom layer consisting of rusks, a type of cereal mix, and actually pudding as well, plus 5 different types of toppings. The recipe is the result of years of collaboration between various departments at the hospital.
Els Vispoel, AZ Sint-Vincentius Deinze: ” It has actually been a multidisciplinary collaboration between the speech therapy department, dietetics, and the chefs of our hospital. We in the dietetics department developed the recipe and tested it further, again together with the chefs. The chefs are of course there to prepare the bread mixes, putting their work into it on a daily basis. The speech therapist was there to fine-tune everything regarding swallowing safety, so that the patient is served something that is safe to swallow”.
