Gluten-free and/or Lactose-free foods
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, spelt and kamut. Foods that contain gluten include bread, cookies, pasta, broth, sauces, sweets…
Some people cannot eat gluten. Even a minuscule amount, such as a bread crumb, can cause problems.
Secondarily, there is often also a hypersensitivity to cow’s milk protein, lactose, yeast….
What is gluten-free food?
A hypersensitivity to gluten cannot be treated with medication. The only treatment consists of completely eliminating gluten from the diet. The diet must be maintained strictly and for life.
What is lactose-free food?
Lactose or milk sugar is found in animal milk and milk products.
To eat lactose-free, it is important to avoid these products. Products based on soy milk such as yogurt, puddings… are okay, on condition that there is no added lactose. Old and mature cheese contains less lactose than young cheese. Yogurt contains bacterial lactase (contain live cultures) and is therefore generally better tolerated.
Lactose is also found in other foods! It is added to various foods to improve texture, give more flavor or ensure better shelf life. We find lactose in ready-to-eat products such as puddings, soups, cakes, pancake mix etc….
We also find lactose in medications and in food supplements.

Céliane from France scores very well because their taste perfectly matches that of the Belgian consumer. They have a wide range of cookies. These are all gluten-free, lactose-free and organic. In addition, several types of cookies are individually packaged. The offer is complete with pasta and baking mixes.
Fria
Swedish Fria is a specialist of frozen gluten-free and lactose-free breads, pistolets, coffee cakes and cake.
Proceli
