Feta cheese tarts with honey

A delicious combination of savory feta and sweet honey wrapped in crisp puff pastry. These tarts are perfect as an appetizer, side dish or even a snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

For 4 cakes

  • 4 slices of puff pastry, defrosted
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • oregano
  • fresh basil
  • 1 generous tbsp of honey
  • 1 red onion
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • 2 tbsp walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Cut the red onion into thin rings. In a small bowl, mix the honey with hot water, stir well and season with salt and pepper. Add the onion to the mixture and set aside to use.
  3. Use a mold to cut rounds of about 10 cm from the slices of puff pastry.
  4. Place the rounds on the baking sheet and brush the edges with olive oil.
  5. Crumble the feta cheese and spread it over the center of the puff pastry. Spoon the marinated honey onion over the feta and garnish with fresh basil, a pinch of sea salt and pepper.
