A delicious combination of savory feta and sweet honey wrapped in crisp puff pastry. These tarts are perfect as an appetizer, side dish or even a snack for any occasion.
Ingredients
For 4 cakes
- 4 slices of puff pastry, defrosted
- 100 g feta cheese
- oregano
- fresh basil
- 1 generous tbsp of honey
- 1 red onion
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 2 tbsp walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Cut the red onion into thin rings. In a small bowl, mix the honey with hot water, stir well and season with salt and pepper. Add the onion to the mixture and set aside to use.
- Use a mold to cut rounds of about 10 cm from the slices of puff pastry.
- Place the rounds on the baking sheet and brush the edges with olive oil.
- Crumble the feta cheese and spread it over the center of the puff pastry. Spoon the marinated honey onion over the feta and garnish with fresh basil, a pinch of sea salt and pepper.
